opengate runs an internship programme for students in Kazakhstan. Interns work on real tasks from our own backlog, in tracks such as data and AI, software engineering, design and business development.
The programme runs as two cohorts a year, in February and September, in step with the academic semesters, when students can set aside 15 to 20 hours a week. An internship lasts three to four months. It can be hybrid or fully remote, from anywhere in Kazakhstan.
Each week starts with a call to set goals and ends with a short written report. Every intern signs an internship agreement before starting. The internship is unpaid.
Applications are open all year on our careers page. Applications that arrive between intakes are reviewed as usual and considered for the next cohort, which starts in February 2027.
